Stanford faculty, University administrator, Broadway actor/singer, and author, Bruce Cryer has led a truly unique life. One of the founding directors of HeartMath, for more than twenty years Bruce was instrumental in the creation of HeartMath tools, techniques and programs as well as translating their ground-breaking research for a lay audience. While serving 11 years as HeartMath’s CEO, he worked with Fortune 50 corporations as well as health systems and government agencies, bringing HeartMath’s message of “coherence and optimal health” to audiences on four continents.

A harrowing two year health journey began in 2009, testing Bruce like nothing ever had before. Thanks in part to the HeartMath resilience-building tools, he is now 12 years cancer-free and enjoys youthful energy as he experiences a renaissance of his own creativity. His course on Creativity as Your Personal Well-Being Strategy was commissioned by Stanford University in 2017 and utilizes HeartMath concepts. He released an album of original songs in 2018 entitled, Renaissance Human.

Now almost eleven years after his health crises subsided, Bruce enjoys robust health and has a new challenge as Executive Director of the Integrative Health Institute at Salem University. His lifelong passions for creative expression and an integrative and holistic lifestyle have become professional obsessions.
